R-Studio
R-Studio's editions split two ways: by how much of the file-system support you actually need, and — more importantly — by whether your license permits using it commercially on someone else's drive at all. That second distinction is easy to miss and matters a lot if you're recovering data for clients rather than yourself.

R-Studio (base)

R-Studio's base, NTFS, FAT, and Corporate licenses are sold for your own use — not for running a recovery service on other people's drives. Only R-Studio Technician is explicitly licensed for that. If a business is being built around recovering other people's data, this is worth checking directly against the current license terms before relying on a cheaper edition.
