Raise Data Recovery
Raise Data Recovery is SysDev Laboratories' entry-level product: automated general recovery across Windows, macOS and Linux, with basic RAID and composite-volume support rather than the manual reconstruction toolkit its sibling products offer. It's a single product, not split into editions by feature — the two "licenses" below are actually just two lengths of free-update coverage, both attached to the exact same perpetual software.
Storage and file systems
Raise works on HDDs, SSDs, USB flash drives, memory cards, and any locally attached storage the operating system itself recognizes. Supported file systems are FAT/FAT32/exFAT and NTFS/ReFS on Windows, HFS+ and APFS on Mac, and Ext2/3/4, XFS, JFS and ReiserFS on Linux — UFS also appears in current license material. That covers deleted files, formatting, and damaged or lost file-system structures across all three platforms in one product.
Basic complex-storage support
Raise recognizes Linux mdadm arrays, Apple Software RAID, Windows Dynamic Disks, Linux LVM, and a number of NAS-related layouts where supported. That's genuinely useful for a straightforward, cleanly-assembling array, but it's automatic recognition rather than the manual reconstruction toolkit — disk order, stripe size, parity parameters — that Recovery Explorer RAID and UFS Explorer RAID Recovery expose for arrays that won't assemble cleanly on their own.
Trial and preview
Raise's trial has an unusual split: unlimited saving for raw (carved/signature-based) recovery, but filesystem-based recovery — the mode that preserves original names and paths — caps saved files at 256 KB. Recent versions have also expanded preview support, including video playback and improved document/image preview, which matters beyond convenience: previewing a found file before recovery is itself part of validating that the scan actually found the right data, the same principle covered in Validating Recovered Data.

Short-Term Support license
BudgetThe full Raise Data Recovery software, unlimited in duration and recovery capacity — the "short-term" label refers only to how long free software updates are included, not to any recovery limit.
- File systemsFAT/FAT32/exFAT/NTFS/ReFS, HFS+/APFS, Ext2-4/XFS/JFS/ReiserFS
- ScenariosDeleted files, formatting and damaged or lost file-system structures on supported storages
- License scopePersonal, non-commercial use
- Updates included30 days free; license itself never expires
Long-Term Support license
BudgetIdentical software to the Short-Term license — the only difference is a longer window of free updates. Worth the extra $15 if there's any chance of using it again within the year.
- File systemsSame as Short-Term Support
- ScenariosSame as Short-Term Support
- License scopePersonal, non-commercial use
- Updates included360 days free; license itself never expires
Short-Term and Long-Term Support aren't different capability levels — they're the same software with different free-update windows. Raise can work with supported simple and RAID storages, but it is intentionally a simpler product than the dedicated RAID and professional editions in the Recovery Explorer and UFS Explorer families.
