UFS Explorer RAID Recovery vs R-Studio
Both products cover serious file-system and RAID recovery, but a simple checklist hides important edition differences. This comparison separates documented capabilities from features that are only available in a higher edition or could not be confirmed in current official documentation.
Not confirmed does not mean “unsupported.” It means the capability was not specific enough in the official material checked for this comparison to justify a Yes/No claim. Edition-specific features are shown as such instead of being attributed to the base product.

Where the products overlap
Both are cross-platform recovery products with broad file-system support, deleted/formatted/damaged-file-system recovery, raw file carving, disk imaging and capable standard or custom RAID reconstruction. For an ordinary single-disk recovery or a conventional RAID layout, the useful distinction is therefore not simply whether a RAID checkbox exists.
Where UFS Explorer RAID Recovery is more specialized
Its RAID edition explicitly documents vendor- and storage-specific reconstruction for Synology SHR, Drobo BeyondRAID, Btrfs RAID, ZFS RAID-Z and LVM Thin Provisioning. Multi-pass imaging, defect maps, third-party bad-sector maps, pattern-based maps and adaptive RAID reconstruction from damaged members are also included in this edition.
Where R-Studio's edition boundary matters
Standard R-Studio includes disk imaging, RAID reconstruction and an advanced hexadecimal viewer. Its multi-pass/runtime imaging, sector maps, third-party map support, full hex editor and recovery-hardware integrations are documented for Technician/T80+ rather than the base $79.99 product. Network workflows also depend on the selected R-Studio edition.
Which one fits which job?
UFS Explorer RAID Recovery
Best fit when the job centers on NAS/RAID reconstruction, unusual storage layouts, damaged RAID members or storage technologies explicitly handled by the RAID edition.
R-Studio
Best fit when a broad general-purpose recovery environment with strong file-system and RAID capabilities is needed at a lower base price, while advanced acquisition/service features can be moved to Technician when required.
Evidence and scope
This page uses current official product, documentation and store material from SysDev Laboratories and R-Tools Technology. Prices and edition boundaries can change; the capability model records a verification date and treats unknown or insufficiently documented features separately from explicit lack of support.
